My interest in Eastern religions, as in sundry other topics of study, can be directly traced back to a conversation I had with my good friend Mike sometime last summer. Though I had not had too much exposure to Buddhism, the particular subject in question at the time, I found that many of the things that he (Mike, not the buddha) said made a lot of sense. Having "grown out" of Christianity several years previous, I had made a point of distancing myself from institutionalized spirituality as a rule. Nevertheless, I decided to check it out...
